R V actually living???

Shaher ki is daud mein, daud ke karna kya hai?
Jab yehi jeena hai dosto to phir marna kya hai?
Pehli barish me train late hone ki fikr hai
Bhul gaye bhigte hue tahelna kya hai?
Serials ke kirdaaro ka saara haal hai malum
par maa ka haal puchhne ki fursat kise hai?
Ab ret pe nange pao tahelte kyu nahi?
108 hai channel phir dil bahelte kyu nahi?
Internet ki duniya ke to touch me hai,
lekin pados me kaun raheta hai jaante tak nahi.
Mobile, Landline sab ki bharmaar hai,
Lekin jigri dost tak pahuche aise taar kaha hai?
Kab dubte hue suraj ko dekha tha yaad hai?
Kab jaana tha shaam ka woh banana kya hai?
To Dosto Shaher ki es daud me daud ke karna kya hai
Jab yahi jeena hai to phir Marna kya hai?

All of u must have heard these lines from the very coooooooooooooooooooool movie “Lage Raho Munna Bhai”… U must have heard them, liked them n said, good lines, nice dialogues… But, has anyone actually given these lines a thought??

Can u actually recollect the last time u had a nice walk with ur dad?
Or had a heart to heart talk with ur friend?
Or just sat on the sand gazing at the beauty of the sunset?
Had a chat with ur best friend other than thru the internet…
Thanked god for wot nature has given us
Marvelled at the small yet very important things v posses?
Cared for someones emotions recently, given a stranger a smile?

Life for us has become: getting up, going to office, come back late, eat n sleep..
just including a sketch which i had made on the topic " Software professional's life is.."

I guess, the picture is self explanatory and does depicts the life and priorities of "v", the IT ppl ..

Have u ever thought about the changes that these so called “ hi-fi lifestyle” or the "urban lifestyle" has brought about in the life of not just the grown ups but also in the life of a small kid of the new generation??

Have heard my mom telling that wen she was a kid, she n her friends used to sit near the window facing the mango tree n wait till they saw or heard a ripe mango fall on the ground n then they used to run to collect it before the lady of the house cud get it… Dad says, he n his friends used to enjoy swimming in the canal (a water canal system mainly intended for irrigation) near to their home, n climbing trees n plucking fruits…

Well, as far as I can recollect about my childhood, most of it went in indoor games n to some extend some outdoor games like badminton, kho kho or dorge ball or stapu (the game mostly played by girls where u have a small flat stone piece in hand and are supposed to throw in the different columns one by one and have to jump from one column to the other with one leg folded. Well, I don’t think I have given a good enough explanation. Also ppl call it by different names, so u guys may not even be able to understand by the name i used...) or pitthu ( a game in which u have a pile of flat stones, carefully searched from the backyard or the school ground, u are supposed to aim at the pile by a ball n then again are supposed to rearrange them back in the "Kutub Minar style", the biggest at the bottom and narrowing down as u go up.. All this u r supposed to do in the midst of all the running around and one team trying to make the other team out.. I guess, u wud be thinking, yes, it used to be fun...) n there are some more games to name a few...

But, u know? Its been yrs thatI saw a kid play these games… they all are very busy with their studies n other activities which they are forced to do like attending self development classes, singing or dancing classes n not to forget the biggest culprit : the tuition classes…and they are made to believe they actually like doing those extra curricular activities instead of going out n playing with their friends.. Well, competition s high and every parent wants to make their kids "the all rounder".

My nephew, at the very young age of 3 knew how to switch on a pc, put his CD n play his fav game n play the rhymes he likes… He can play his fav animation movie “Hanuman” (very sweet one indeed) on the DVD player without anybody having to help him…

But can these movies n stories written on CDs be any comparison for the fun of listening ur fav bed time story from ur grandma ( in my case it used to be my sis.. she is the eldest among the three of us and used to read a lot.. so knew "all" the stories, is wot v believed. before v slept, she used to tell me n my brother one story every night. n wen she was actually exhausted with her "big" collection, she started making stories on her own n telling us..they used to be very unpractical but v used to believe it all :).. she still does that with her kids ;) )?

Well, if I continue like this, there will be many a things and the list will be endless..
These, which were a part of our life once n will remain, now, in just our memories…
V atleast have the memories, wot will our kids have??

But whom do v blame for these things that v are losing, and the life that the kids are unaware of…

I know, v cannot change the lifestyle v have now, but cant v just spare some time out of our so called busy schedules for the ppl v love, for those whom v care and for ourselves..
N try to add some emotions n feelings to the mechanical life that v are leading..

Well, guys I actually wonder " Agar yahi jeena hei to marna kya hei?????????? "
Just give it a thought guys…

Again, a good and nostalgic blog. Really a nice topic to ponder about. We tend to think, how you want to mould your kids but finally you are imposing your ideas on them.. Again a nice one.
